To All Saints Parents,
Our program will be holding a Board of Directors meeting on Monday May 14, 2018 in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at Foxboro Rink at 7PM. This is a most important meeting as our current Board will be dissolved and elections will be held for a new Board for next season.
We have a very healthy program in terms of participant numbers this year and we are looking forward to the next upcoming season.
There is an off ice component to our program however where we are in need of parents who wish to help set policy and execute the operations side of things. Many of our current Board members have been in place for a several years and some members are new to the board this year.
New ideas and change are healthy for any organization and we are looking for parents, especially those who have kids at the younger age levels, who may be interested in becoming part of our future. Some positions are open, some current Board members may wish to retain their positions but transition duties to new members over time so even if you do not think you would like to apply for a position this coming year, we welcome you to our meeting to find out more about how our program is run and how you may fit in going forward.
A list of Board positions and a rough summary of their duties follows. We also have non-voting Alternate member Board positions available for those looking to get initial exposure to the program.
President
Sets the agendas for and runs Board meetings. Helps set and execute the policies and direction of our program. Also investigates complaints, grievances and disciplinary matters. The President does NOT vote on Board matters.
Vice President
Runs the tryout process. Assists the President in his/her absence and in executing the direction and policies of the program. Helps procure ice time if necessary.
Secretary
Schedules meetings and publicizes them to the Board and parents. Keeps minutes and records correspondence on Board matters.
Treasurer
Deposits all income and disburses expenses. Updates the Board on financial status regularly. Files annual paperwork required for the program to maintain non-profit status.
Registrar
Creates individual program registrations within our website. Tracks all skaters, creates rosters and ensures individual tuitions are paid.
Program Director
Primary responsibility is to serve as the program liaison to the South Shore Conference and MA Hockey and attend monthly meetings. Also helps establish and execute on ice direction of the program.
Coaching Coordinator
Communicates policies and requirements to all coaches, including tracking coaching education requirements. Execute a pre-season meeting to communicate expectations and program philosophies to individual coaches. Addresses in-season issues as they arise and brings them to the Board for resolution.
Ice Scheduler
Responsible for distributing and scheduling ice purchased by the program equitably to all teams and individual programs. Also communicates all changes to coaching staff and Board.
Tournament Director
Obtains and distributes to coaching staff information pertaining to available tournaments and helps coordinate participation if necessary.
House League Director
Oversees running of the program including dividing teams and assigning practice times and game schedules.
Learn to Play/Learn to Skate Director
Oversees running of the program.
Fundraising Director
Chairs all fundraising activities.
Equipment Director
Purchases, tracks and distributes all equipment as necessary and collects said equipment at the end of each season.
Skills Director
Procures personnel to run Skills sessions within budget provided by the Board and coordinates scheduling of the sessions.
